Magnes neodymowy w kształcie walca jest połączony z wkrętem z materiału ferromagnetycznego, który dzięki przyciaganiu magnetycznemu jest połączony z jednym z biegunów ogniwa NiMH. Przewód łączy drugi biegun ogniwa z krawędzią magnesu, zamykając tym samym obwód elektryczny.
